For nearly 90 years, the Preston family cultivated flowers—most notably the majestic and elegant gladiolus—on this land. Each year, thousands of vibrant blooms flourished, nurtured by the rich soil and coastal breezes of Sarasota Bay and the Gulf. With a deep-rooted connection to the land, the family has embraced its evolution, transforming part of their cherished farmland into a place for future generations to enjoy. Today, we honor their legacy and the beauty of this place by calling it SeaFlower.
SeaFlower embraces the heritage and authentic charm of classic Florida towns. Designed with the principles of traditional neighborhood developments in mind, it features narrow roads for slower traffic, scenic trails, pocket parks, and inviting spaces that foster genuine connections among neighbors. At its core, the vibrant SeaFlower Village Center serves as the heart of the community, seamlessly blending with the stunning Lake Flores and its central lakefront park and trail. This thoughtfully designed, mixed-use village encourages walkability, connectivity, and outdoor engagement, promoting an active and social lifestyle for residents at every stage of life.
As the heart of SeaFlower’s social scene, Lake Flores, its scenic lakefront park, and the resident amenities at The Garden Club create a vibrant gathering place for the community. Whether it’s neighborhood meet-ups at the Clubhouse, morning workouts and pickleball matches, evening concerts on the lawn, or weekend playdates with the kids, there’s always something happening. Winding throughout, the Lake Flores Trail seamlessly connects residents to the Village Center, amenities, parks, lakes, and natural areas—making it easy to explore by bike, foot, or golf cart.
